Original description: as Papilio Plebejus phlaeas in Fauna Suecica (Edn. 2): 285.

turcicus Gerchard, 1850
Type locality of nominate species: Västmanland, Sweden.
Subspecies in Norway: L. p. phlaeas, L. p. polaris.
Worldwide distribution: Canary Islands, Madeira, NW Africa, Europe, temperate parts of
Asia, Japan, Greenland, North America north to 80oN.
