Norwegian name: Gullringvinge.
Auctor: (Linnaeus, 1758)
Original description: as Papilio Danaus jurtina in Syst. Nat. (Edn. 10) I : 471.
Syn.: - - -
Type locality of nominate species: Sweden.
Worldwide distribution: Europe, across temperate parts of Asia to Mongolia, Ussuri, NE China and Korea.
Subspecies in Norway: A.h.hyperantus.

Type locality of subspecies: Sweden.
Distribution in Norway: Lowlands of South Norway.
Notes: A. hyperantus is more common in SE Norway than in
SW Norway, but nowhere as common as in S Sweden.
Described forms found in Norway: - - -
Etymology: hyperantus: hyper = beyond, over, above. anthos (Gr.) = flower.
  Also the name of one of Aegyptus' fity sons (Greek mythology).
