Etymology: sulitelma = named after its type locality, Mt Sulitelma, a mountain in Sweden, near the Norwegian-Swedish border.
hecla = in ancient Norse language hekla was a name for the clouds surrounding a volcano. As Lefèbvre
thought hecla's type locality was Iceland, he named the butterfly after Iceland's biggest volcano, Hekla.
