Worldwide distribution: Morocco, Algeria, Europe and temperate belt of Asia to South-west China,
Amur, Chukot Peninsula, North-west America.
Subspecies in Norway: H.c.comma, H.c.catena.
Worldwide subspecies: H.c.comma (Linnaeus, 1758) - Europe, Asia.
